New York day 3 – 23 april 2018

Hi everyone,

well this morning we woke up at 7:30am as we again wanted to make the most out of our time in New York. The first thing on the planning was to go to the empire state building! We got there around 10am and went up! The view was so pretty and it was really worth the money, you could see both sides of Manhattan as the empire state building is somewhere in the middle of it. On one side you could see central park and a little bit of times square, on the other side you could see the WTC and the statue of liberty. I loved the view so much. We also walked 6 floors up because the row for the elevator was way too long. When we finally went down again, we met Jorden, a Dutch friend of me who also happened to be in New York, at Central park. We first lunched and we all had a good sized burger with fries and then started our walk. The weather was perfect and I was (am) in love with Central park, the mixture of rocky areas, gras areas and forest-like areas makes it perfect for everyone. On our way to the big lake we stopped at a field of grass to play some frisbee. After that we continued our walk and when we thought we were at/past half of the park, we happened to be at 1/3th of it, oops… After 2 or 3 hours we finally made it to the big lake, made some pictures and headed to the subway station as we also had a walk planned over the Brooklyn bridge! The sun started to go down but the view was still very pretty. We walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan to have the view of all the skyscrapers. Pictures from this walk and from Central park can be found in the Photo folder! After the Brooklyn bridge walk we went back to our hotel to charge our phones. After that Jorden and me went to times square as Jorden hadn’t seen it yet. We bought some souvenirs and it was already 11pm by the time Jorden went back to his host family. The next day would be the last day in New York already, it went by so so fast but it was also good to have some rest again.

Love, Marina
